Reed Leeds Business Support are recruiting for a Market Manger based in Leeds on behalf of a UK based organization. This role will report to Head of Operations and manage the property, local team and traders, and contractors in line with systems and policies. The Market Manager will have on-site compliance and reporting responsibility for the day-to-day operational and marketing requirements of Morley Market, including income collection and generation.

Duties will include:
• Managing people, systems, and processes key to site management; H&S documentation, Trader Details, Tenancy Schedule, Licenses, Contractor Documentation, Cleaning Records, Rota Management etc.
• Complete company paperwork including (but not limited to) financial spend, H&S assessments, marketing materials, business plans, tenancy schedules, monthly trader audits, weekly reporting, market regulations etc.
• Performance managing cleaning standards throughout the site, including training records, COSHH, the procurement of supplies
• Monitor the market and deal with any operational issues including HR and absence Management.
• Promoting positive, efficient, and productive relationships with traders and trader communication.
• Liaise (through directives) with internal and external stakeholders as required, including Senior Management, Council, Insurance, Contractors etc.
• Key holder responsibilities, including opening/closing, activating alarms, and responding to callouts for Fire and Intruder alarms
• Managing the trader onboarding process from start to end
• Lease & License management, including renewal.
• Liaising with Business rates, EHO, Utilities suppliers to ensure accurate management of occupancy and handover information between tenant and landlord.
• Identify opportunities to maximize revenue as well as implement and deliver identified strategies.
• Ensuring the market is open during the advertised hours and managing engagement with traders and suppliers.
• Devise strategy to proactively identify potential new traders, carry out viewings, manage lettings, and monitor competitor markets.
• Conduct viewings for potential new traders and negotiate tenancy.
• Keep the market’s website updated and develop and implement the content plan for all social media platforms daily.
• Identify viable advertising campaigns to promote the market and drive footfall.

Requirements for the role:

• Solid understanding of customer, leadership, and management practices
• Business Planning & Development skills
• Strong H&S, Facilities or Property background

• Project management experience
• Knowledge of Market Traders and processes

• Excellent Time Management with a proactive approach to work, completing tasks and delegating.
• Exceptional communication skills for face-to-face, telephone and email correspondence
• Ability to adapt management style to positively, productively and efficiently liaise with traders management and Senior Team
• The ability to pass on technical skills and mentor junior colleagues
• Proficient computer skills to report write, create presentations, proficient use of Excel and high quality communications.
