HGV Class 1 Driver - Ad Hoc / Weekend Trunking - Tamworth, Staffordshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers - Ad Hoc / Weekend Trunking to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and flexible working with a large national client.

This role is ideal for drivers looking for additional hours, part-time work or semi-retired drivers wanting flexible shifts.

Shifts

• Friday, Saturday or Sunday
• Start times between 08:00 - 14:00 or 20:00 - 23:00
• Shifts average 8-11 hours
• Very flexible work available

Rates of Pay (PAYE)

• £19.20 per hour - Monday to Friday
• £20.35 per hour - Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday accrued separately

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Completing Class 1 trunking runs from depot to depot
• Occasional deliveries to supermarkets
• Occasional collections from suppliers when required
• Operating refrigerated trailers safely and efficiently
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks
• Ensuring all loads are secure and transported safely
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and company procedures
• No handball required

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A valid Digital Tachograph card
• A valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
• A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers

Desirable Experience

• Good knowledge of the UK road network
• Experience working with chilled vehicles or refrigerated trailers

Training Provided

• Driving assessment required prior to starting
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout the assignment
