SEN Teacher - KS1 / KS2 (Autism Provision)
Location: KT3

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A specialist SEND provision in KT3 is seeking a qualified SEN Teacher to join their team, working within a KS1 or KS2 class supporting pupils with Autism (ASC). This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive environment with small class sizes and a strong SEN support team.

About the Role

You will be responsible for teaching a small class, all with a diagnosis of Autism, ensuring learning is adapted to meet their individual needs.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with Autism

*

Supporting pupils' communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation

*

Creating a structured and predictable learning environment using visual supports and clear routines

*

Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff to provide personalised learning

*

Implementing strategies to support sensory needs and behaviour regulation

*

Monitoring and recording pupil progress against EHCP outcomes and learning targets

*

Working collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and parents to support pupil development

Requirements

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential

*

Experience working with Autism (ASC) and additional learning needs

*

Experience teaching KS1 or KS2

*

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

*

Understanding of autism-friendly teaching strategies and structured learning approaches

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
