Year 1 Teacher - Maternity Cover (Medway)

About the Role

A lovely one-form-entry primary school in Medway is seeking an experienced Year 1 Teacher to join them on a maternity cover contract. This is a full class-teacher role, including planning, teaching, assessment, and classroom responsibility. Weekly PPA time will be provided.

The school follows a structured and supportive curriculum model, with excellent resources and schemes already in place. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong practitioner who thrives in Key Stage 1 and enjoys contributing to a positive, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching to a Year 1 class.
Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with curriculum expectations.
Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support consistency and progression.
Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider school community.
Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral standards.What We're Looking For

Experienced Year 1 Teacher or primary practitioner confident within KS1.
Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy development.
Experience teaching RWI Phonics (beneficial but not essential).
Familiarity with White Rose Maths, Kapow, and Grammarsaurus (training can be provided).
A committed, organised, and enthusiastic teacher able to take ownership of the class.
Someone confident planning and delivering high-quality lessons.What We Offer
