Location: Greater Manchester (including Stockport, Manchester, Salford, Trafford and surrounding areas)

Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with SEND or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

TeacherActive is currently recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a range of specialist schools and alternative provisions. These settings support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including challenging behaviours, autism, ADHD, trauma, and communication difficulties.

This role is ideal for someone who:

Has previous experience working with pupils with SEND and/or SEMH

Is confident using de-escalation strategies and working in emotionally responsive ways

Can build trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced adversity

Has worked in specialist settings, PRUs, alternative provisions, or in 1:1 support roles

Understands the importance of safeguarding and consistent behaviour support

Your Role May Include:

Supporting students with EHCPs in and out of class

Working 1:1 with pupils with complex behavioural needs

Delivering structured interventions or mentoring support

Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and learning engagement

Working closely with SENCOs, therapists and class teachers
