Our client, a reputable and well-established family-run motor retail group in the Oxford region, is seeking a skilled and organised Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant looking to progress within the automotive industry, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch breakDuties as an Accounts Assistant:

Reconcile and post daily banking transactions
Scan and post purchase ledger invoices onto the accounting system
Ensure unallocated payments are cleared on the purchase ledger
Post petty cash expenses and reconcile accounts regularly
Reconcile supplier statements and verify sublet purchase invoices where necessary
Manage credit control processes efficiently
Post daily bank statements and perform bank reconciliations
Conduct monthly BACS runs and complete sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
Assist with month-end accounting tasks and reports
Support ad hoc finance projects and tasks assigned by the Accountant
Liaise with other departments to enhance processes and communication within the dealershipRequirements as an Accounts Assistant:

Recent or current experience working within an accounts or finance role, ideally in motor retail or similar environments
Proficiency in Excel and IT systems; experience with SAGE or similar accounting software is advantageous but not essential
Methodical and organised working approach with excellent attention to detail
Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly
live within a reasonable commuting distance to Oxford
