Architect / Architectural Technologist required to undertake the Principal Designer role on behalf of an Architectural practice based near Chester, Cheshire.

Conrad Consulting is proud to represent a distinguished firm located near Chester, renowned for its expertise and fine reputation in the Cheshire Architectural community. This practice, comprising approximately 10 Architectural professionals, is led by an experienced and welcoming team.

The firm specialises in the Residential sector, focusing on rural buildings such as barn conversions, farmhouses, and similar developments. If you are familiar with Cheshire, you will likely recognise their projects, which are scattered across the rural landscape. Their portfolio often includes larger schemes and masterplanning, requiring a keen eye for detail and a sensitivity to the unique character of rural architecture.

They are undertaking more and more work in the role of Principal Designer to their expanding client based, ensuring projects are not only creative and efficient but also safe, compliant, and of the highest quality.

Following recent project wins in various sectors, an exciting opportunity for an Architect or Architectural Technologist is available to undertake this principal Designer role on behalf of this reputable company.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design & BIM Coordination

Develop and manage Architectural design packages.
Produce planning and technical drawings.Project Management & Collaboration

Contribute to project programmes, deliverables, and design review processes.
Support client presentations, design workshops, and on-site coordination.Principal Designer & Building Safety (Desirable)

Support or deliver Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015 and BSA 2022.
Manage design risk registers, safety-critical information, and project safety documentation.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulators to integrate safety into the design from the outset.Requirements

Qualified Architect, CIAT Technologist, or Architectural Technician.
Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM 2015, and ideally BSA 2022 (desirable).
Excellent communication, organisation, and collaboration skills.
Experience within the Residential sector is desirable.This role is in it's early stages, and is developing quickly into an exciting prospect for an experienced, local Architect or Technologist.
