Job Description

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS!!!!!! Seeking Full Time or Part Time QMHP-Adult or QMHP-Children working directly with adults or children with mental health, behavioral or emotional issues in their home or community settings. Interested applicants must have at least Bachelors Degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Special Education or a Human Services related field and a year of professional experience working with children or adults.


Duties and Responsibilities:
 Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing the duties of in-home counselor
 Provide primary service in client’s home (90%) of the time and all rendered services as identified on the client Individualized Service Plans.
 Work with clients to foster the development of new improved coping, problem solving, and communication skills, case management, etc. and any goals as directly related to the client individualized service plan.
 Collaborate with client, family members and references in developing interventions goals and service plans.
 Assist in the implementation of Individualized Service Plans, ensure that they are reviewed with client and the client guardian for complete understanding and monitor progress or lack thereof.
 Maintain and establish appropriate professional files which provide all necessary documentation regarding the client including monthly reports, quarterlies reports, daily progress notes, and discharge reports
 Submit daily progress notes by the mandated deadline, submit accountability sheets, and audit their client files.
 Educate client and family members regarding existing community services, and act as an advocate in connecting the client and family members to these services.
 Respond to calls on "client/family crisis," on a 24-hour, seven days a week basis.
 Participate in clinical supervision sessions on a weekly basis.
 Participate in administrative supervisions as required
 Conduct or participate in case reviews and staffing as required.
 Provide a range of clinical, concrete and advocacy services to clients and their families that are consistent with family values, learning styles, lifestyle, circumstances and culture.
 Provide back up for other counselors as needed
 Comply with all company standards of practice as outlined in the NDCOS Employee Handbook
 Attend and participate in other appointments when necessary such as Doctors (Physicals), Psychological/Psychiatric appointments, IEP meetings, etc. and maintain close coordination with all client stakeholders that releases are signed for. Case conferences and court appearances with the client as necessary.
 Work collaboratively with other stakeholders such as FAPT team members, School Officials, Social Workers, Probation Officers, etc.
 Establish a good working relationship with other public and private agencies/services, and interface collaboratively with them and document it in the client Contact Sheets
 Arrange for client transportation to appointments assisting them in accessing community resources.
 Promote and market the company through vendor fairs, community events, etc.
 Participate in all required trainings.
 Collaborate and advocate with formal and informal community resources and systems, while teaching client/family to advocate for themselves other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
To qualify as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) to provide Intensive In-Home Services or Mental Health Services, the individual must have the designated clinical experience and must:
i. be a physician; or
ii. have master’s degree in psychology or human services related field from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience; or
iii. have a social work bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience with children or adolescents; or
iv. be a registered nurse with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents; or
v. have at least a bachelor’s degree in a human services field, special education, and other selected specializations from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents. or adults
Clinical experience means providing direct clinical services to children and adolescents or adults with mental illness. It includes supervised internships, practicum’s, and field experience. A human services field is defined as social work, psychology, sociology, or counseling.
Must pass TB Test and be tuberculosis free on an annual basis
Must pass CPS and Criminal background check
Must have acceptable driving record and dependable transportation


Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to listen effectively; knowledge of child and adolescent development; knowledge of factors which may contribute to family dysfunction; knowledge of behavioral management techniques; general knowledge of community resources and services; knowledge of crisis intervention strategies; good problem solving skills; ability to maintain effective working relationship with other social services providers, service purchasers, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
