Your next role
When you join the Regulation & Strategy team at Affinity Water, you'll work as part of a small, expert team designed to analyse, understand and predict the business' regulatory performance. You'll assist the team's efforts to provide expert guidance to stakeholders when it comes to economic regulatory requirements, whilst supporting teams across the company on how to optimise performance against these compliance commitments.
Day to day, you'll provide essential support the Senior Regulatory Economist in managing economic regulatory requirements for Ofwat. You'll take the lead in building and operating Affinity Water's economic models, analysing the company's performance and reporting on regulatory consequences. Moreover, you'll take ownership for setting wholesale and retail tariffs in line with regulatory requirements.
As you develop your understanding of economic regulatory principles within the water industry, you'll use this expertise to brief senior managers and colleagues on regulatory performance matters, gaining visibility and recognition across the business.
What do you need?
You'll have some experience in an economic regulatory role, plus a relevant degree qualification in Economics/Finance/Accounting or similar. Previous experience in a regulated sector will put you in good stead but this isn't essential.
The projects you'll be working on can come with tight deadlines, but you'll be a self-starter with the energy and initiative to adapt to workload demands. A big part of this role is engaging with your stakeholders, so you'll have excellent interpersonal skills and be keen to share your knowledge and empower others.
You'll also be a proficient user of MS Excel to build and use economic models.
