Sales & Marketing Professional
The position of Sales & Marketing professional will manage and develop existing and new customers within an assigned portfolio and/or a sales territory within the Arizona region through 2018 and the first quarter of 2019. This position will expand to other US territories at the discretion of Big G Ranch ownership. The selected candidate will support the company's sales goals utilizing professional selling practices, effective marketing of our grass-fed beef products, and offer superior customer service to promote quality relations with butchers, retail buyers and state grocers.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following essential functions:
Meets or exceeds established sales objectives
Establishes new accounts, develops, and maintains existing assigned accounts, increasing base volume and margins.
Develops maximum sales potential with each customer in assigned territories through competitive sales techniques, knowledge of our Big G Ranch offerings and how they relate to the competition's products.
Maintains updated customer profile information including contact data and pricing structures.
Introduces new, branded items as our inventory increases in assigned territories and meets or exceeds established branded sales objectives.
Utilizes multiple communication vehicles, including cold calling, scheduled, in-person visits, and presentations to existing and prospective customers to position Big G Ranch as their preferred meat supplier.
Offers in store merchandising consultancy (Big G Ranch promotional displays) services as a competitive differentiator and value-added service.
Develops/maintains a target prospect list for new customer development with ownership support.
Create customized proposals to meet specific customer requirements in an effective manner.
Handles customer orders in an organized and efficient manner.
Completes and submits sales reports as needed (daily, weekly, or monthly basis).
Manages and adheres to Big G Ranch rules surrounding minimum route profitability requirements.
Represents the company at trade shows, demos, and other industry events, as requested.
Works closely with the BGR owners on customer needs.
Assists in the collection of overdue accounts, when required.
Manages approved customer credits and resolves unknown deductions.
Maintains updated sales binders with current price sheets.
Maintains a daily social marketing program within all BGR outlets such as daily posts with photos, gifs, stories, and pitches to convert to the website on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Regular email marketing campaigns to client list to increase sales and keep buyer interest piqued.
Essential skills and experience:
Minimum high school graduate, with some business and food industry knowledge. Some college or a BA is optimal but required.
Minimum of 2-3 years successful track record in direct sales experience within the food or meat industry preferred.
Must have the ability to persuade and influence others (good negotiation skills).
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to use sell sheets effectively.
Must be able to prioritize work.
Must be accurate, thorough, and maintain consistent follow-through.
Must have strong sales skills, but also be willing and able to “roll-up shirt sleeves” to provide customer service when needed.
Must be able to meet company goals and objectives.
Must be computer literate and able to work from a smartphone frequently.
Must demonstrate sales leadership skills.
Must share a commitment to company values.
