We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the Quality Assurance Team and drive high-quality services for children, young people, and their families. This interim opportunity offers the chance to make a real impact by strengthening practice, improving outcomes, and supporting high-performing social work teams.

  • Civic Campus, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JG
  • 3 days per week in the office
  • £350 per day
  • 2-month contract (likely to be extended)
The Role:

You will lead and direct a team of professional social workers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services for children and families who require support and intervention. Services must be delivered in line with statutory legislation, corporate policies, and directorate objectives.

You will champion social work values and support interventions that prioritise keeping children safe, ideally within their own families or extended networks wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff to deliver effective services to children and families.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with relevant legislation, policies, and budgetary limits.
  • Drive a strong culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Promote co-production and the voice of the child and family in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure delivery against key service targets.
  • Provide regular, reflective supervision and promote staff wellbeing.
  • Manage absence, recruitment needs, and workforce development.
  • Build effective working relationships with partners, colleagues, families, and carers.
