An opportunity has arisen to join Crimestoppers. We are currently recruiting a Volunteer Administrator based in our Head office in The London Borough of Sutton. You will join us on a part time, one year fixed term basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £21,606 per annum (£27,008 full time equivalent).

About the role: 

As the Volunteer Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Volunteer Management Team at Crimestoppers UK. This position is primarily focused on providing essential administrative support, ensuring smooth operations within the volunteer programme. The Volunteer Administrator will manage volunteer recruitment and onboarding, maintain accurate data records, and oversee ongoing engagement and retention efforts. The role also involves assisting with the logistical coordination of volunteer events and supporting the communications team with content creation and social media updates.

Main Responsibilities of the Volunteer Administrator role:

Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding

Oversee the volunteer recruitment process, including posting volunteer opportunities, coordinating interviews, and processing background checks.

Ensure new volunteers complete necessary safeguarding checks and receive comprehensive inductions and resources to get them started.

Volunteer Data Management

Regularly update and manage the volunteer database, ensuring all information is accurate and accessible.

Monitor volunteer engagement metrics and compile routine reports to assess volunteer retention and participation.

Volunteer Support and Retention

Coordinate volunteer benefits, expenses, and recognition schemes to ensure volunteers feel valued and supported.

Assist in managing volunteer recognition initiatives, including awards, certificates, and appreciation events.

Event Coordination

Provide logistical support for volunteer events, training sessions, and team meetings.

Assist in the preparation of training materials and communication to volunteers about upcoming events.

What we're looking for in our Volunteer Administrator:

Proven experience in an administrative role, ideally within a volunteer or community-based environment

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Excellent attention to detail, particularly when maintaining records and databases

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with volunteers, staff, and external stakeholders

Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems

A collaborative, solutions-focused approach to work

Strong organisational and time-management skills

A proactive and flexible attitude to work, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
