Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

An established and highly successful MEP design consultancy is seeking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team.

This company are a full-service MEP design consultancy who work on a wide range of projects throughout the UK and Ireland including residential, commercial, hotels and retail..

The role:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play an important role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services solutions across multiple projects. You will be involved from concept through to completion, working closely with internal colleagues, clients and wider construction professionals.

Key responsibilities:

Leading the mechanical design on a range of building services projects

*

Producing and reviewing mechanical design calculations, specifications and technical drawings

*

Using 3D design software and other relevant engineering packages to develop high quality design solutions

*

Coordinating with architects, structural engineers and other project stakeholders

*

Supporting project delivery to ensure technical, programme and quality objectives are achieved

*

Attending client meetings and site visits as required

*

Liaising with contractors and site teams during the construction phase

*

Providing technical guidance and support to more junior engineers where appropriate

Requirements:

Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong mechanical design experience within a building services consultancy environment or equivalent, along with the confidence to manage responsibilities across a range of live projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Significant experience in mechanical design engineering within building services / MEP consultancy

*

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design and building services coordination

*

Experience using 3D computer drawing packages and relevant design software

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

The ability to work collaboratively with a range of construction professionals

Confidence attending site and engaging directly with contractors and project teams

*

A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach
