Financial Controller

Permanent • Full-time • £73,751 per annum • South East London

Overview: The Finance Controller will lead on financial processes and controls, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and accuracy across finance operations. Working closely with the Head of Finance and business partners, this role will oversee management and financial accounting, statutory audit, reporting, and tax compliance while supporting the wider organisation's objectives.

What you'll do
Lead and improve financial processes, systems and controls across the organisation.
Own consolidated monthly accounts, cashflow and board-ready reporting.
Manage AP, payroll approvals, reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
Run the year-end: statutory accounts prep and audit liaison.
Complete VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
Monitor cashflow forecasts, borrowing and investment.
Support budget setting and business plan refreshes.
Ensure all statutory and regulatory returns land on time (RSH, FCA, Companies House).
Oversee insurance administration.
Line-manage the Rent & Service Charge Accountant and champion team development.What you'll bring
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
Solid track record in financial control, statutory accounting and external audit.
Confident with tax compliance, regulatory reporting and strong stakeholder comms.
Leadership that develops people and continuously improves processes.
(Nice to have) Social housing/not-for-profit experience and rent/service charge know-how.What you'll get
