Our client, a Thurrock-based primary school is seeking a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to play a key role in supporting pupils whose communication needs impact their learning and wellbeing. The position is available immediately and will run for the remainder of the school year as a minimum.

The school is looking for someone who values progress over pace and wants to be part of a team that puts communication at the centre of inclusion.

Role responsibilities include:

• Providing targeted speech and language support on a 1:1 and small-group basis

• Delivering speech and language programmes under the guidance of the SENCo

• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and develop effective communication skills

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals

• Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (school-based experience preferred)

• Be patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education

• Communicate effectively with pupils and staff

• Be reliable, proactive
