UKAEA is leading the drive to put fusion energy on the grid, to give the world a new form of long-term, sustainable low-carbon electricity. At their sites at Culham, Oxfordshire and Rotherham, South Yorkshire, they have a rapidly growing workforce to fulfil their expanding programme of research, focused on delivering the UK's first fusion prototype power plant by 2040.

The Technical Coordinator is a self-organised Information Manager and able to provide technical administration to support
the Lead Engineers with technical and co-ordination duties involved within a project. The Technical Coordinator will be
based in the Central Engineering Department (CED). This a diverse department with many areas all supporting the main
engineering activities on site including JET, MAST, STEP, DEMO and the new JET (Apply online only) Programme. The core
accountability of CED is to own the engineering design & assurance process, while providing technical leadership in projects
across UKAEA. Among its responsibilities are the feasibility & conceptual studies for programmes and projects and enhancing
the engineering skills base within UKAEA through its outreach program. The CED also maintains the Virtual Engineering
Facility for everyone on site.

Accountabilities

To ensure that project or task-relevant procedures are followed and proactively work with these procedures
To manage the project document storage in the correct databases and allow work to be easily stored and retrieved
Accountable for management of key technical documentation for the project
Accountable for the project changes/deviation database and the NCR database
Support the project(s) change management process and procedures
Produce technical Reports, specifications and Tender Documentation with supervision
Manipulate technical data, such as project KPI's using Microsoft Excel
Technical Secretary duties including organising technical meetings, taking Minutes and Action follow up
Responsible for the maintenance of the project SharePoint
Demonstrates a right first-time approach and shares best practice to standardise procedures
Cover other Technical Coordinator work when required to ensure projects are kept on trackEssential

* HNC/Apprentice or equivalent in Scientific or Engineering related discipline
* IT literate, fluent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access
* Excellent technical report writing skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
Desirable
* Awareness of Quality Management or systems
* Awareness of purchasing systems
