The Role

Inspect and audit reinstatement works on roads, footways, and infrastructure to verify compliance with project specifications.

Review reinstatement plans, method statements, and as-built records.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., New Roads and Street Works Act, HAUC specifications, local authority regulations).

Identify and escalate defects or poor workmanship to contractors and project managers.

Liaise with site engineers, supervisors, and local authorities regarding reinstatement compliance.

Ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to during reinstatement works.

Attend site meetings with project managers, contractors, and quality teams to discuss findings and areas for improvement.

Track corrective actions and verify that rectifications are completed within the required timeframe.

Conduct training sessions for project teams on best practices and compliance requirements.

Review and refine audit checklists and processes based on industry updates and project requirements.

Conduct a comprehensive audit of reinstatement practices across all company projects.

Assist in external audits and regulatory inspections related to reinstatement quality.

Evaluate changes in industry regulations and ensure company policies remain compliant.

Contribute to companywide strategy for improving reinstatement efficiency and reducing defects.

Support performance reviews of subcontractors and recommend preferred partners based on audit results.

Technical Skills & Experience

Previous experience working in a similar role within a civils or utilities contractor

Experience of tarmac and white top reinstatement

Self-driven, results-oriented, with a 'can do' attitude without compromising safety and/or compliance.

Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including employees, management, and agencies.

Excellent problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication Skills

Confident, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with managers and stakeholders at all levels within a business.

Ability to be proactive, always.

Excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications & Training

NRSWA

Full Driving Licence

Knowledge of the Specification for Road Openings in the Highway (SROH)
