Join a thriving, well-established engineering business where your practical knowledge and ideas will make a real difference. We're looking for a proactive Production Engineer to play a key role in keeping our clients manufacturing operations running smoothly — from sourcing parts and materials to creating production routings and providing hands-on engineering support across the workshop and wider business.
In this role, you'll be the vital link between design, manufacturing, and procurement — helping us deliver high-quality machinery on time, every time.
What you'll be doing:
* Sourcing and purchasing materials, parts, tooling, and consumables needed for production.
* Planning machining and fabrication routes to deliver components on time.
* Reviewing engineering drawings and documentation to determine the best manufacturing methods.
* Estimating processing times and setting up accurate job data in our ERP/MRP system.
* Identifying work holding and tooling requirements for different processes.
* Keeping all production paperwork and records up to date, ensuring full traceability and compliance with ISO9001 standards.
* Providing hands-on engineering support to various departments, helping resolve technical queries and quality issues.
* Contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the production office and workshop.
* Collaborating with teams across the business to drive efficiencies and maintain high-quality output.
What we're looking for:
* Solid understanding of workshop practices — you'll know your way around metal cutting techniques, speeds and feeds, tooling choices, and work holding methods.
* Confident interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
* Previous experience working in a similar engineering or manufacturing role.
* Comfortable using ERP/MRP systems to manage production data.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting others.
Why join us?
You'll be part of a supportive team in a stable, growing business that values your input and invests in its people
