Backed by strong investment and driven by an experienced engineering leadership team, they are scaling fast and are looking to recruit a Safety Design Engineer.

you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safe and compliant plant and equipment design for their systems. You'll work closely with process, design, and R&D teams to integrate robust safety standards into cutting-edge technologies.

You'll bring significant expertise in high-pressure systems, and process safety legislation to help deliver the safe development of pilot and commercial-scale facilities.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead design risk assessments and ensure compliance with PED, DSEAR, PSSR, and ATEX for high-pressure systems.

* Identify and address safety concerns during equipment design and layout.

* Design and specify safety systems, control strategies, and protective measures for novel process units.

* Lead and review HAZOPs, P&IDs, safety documentation, and written schemes of examination.

* Liaise with regulators and certification bodies for project approvals.

* Mentor junior engineers and embed a proactive safety culture across the organisation

About You

* BEng/MEng or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.

* Experience in process safety and design engineering, preferably in a high-hazard industry

* Demonstrated ability to lead HAZOPs, risk assessments, and prepare technical safety reports.
