An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a major new product development project valued at over £1m.

This role will take ownership of delivering a complex electro-mechanical engineering programme, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to specification.

You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers and specialists, coordinating activities across design, testing, manufacturing and suppliers. Alongside project leadership, you will also play a key role in driving product reliability and validation activities.

This role is ideal for a technically strong Project Manager who enjoys working closely with engineering teams and contributing directly to the successful delivery of complex products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans and schedules

  • Coordinate a multi-disciplinary project team

  • Manage project risks, issues and dependencies

  • Lead regular project progress and review meetings

  • Provide clear progress updates to senior stakeholders

  • Ensure deliverables meet technical, quality and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate activities with suppliers and third-party partners

Product Reliability & Testing

A portion of the role will involve supporting and leading product reliability activities, including:

  • Leading a small technical team focused on reliability validation

  • Supporting the development and execution of component and product test plans

  • Working with external test partners on environmental and accelerated life testing

  • Analysing test data and producing technical reports

  • Feeding reliability insights back into the design and development teams

Candidate Requirements
  • 5+ years experience managing complex technical or engineering projects

  • Proven experience delivering electro-mechanical product development programmes

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar

  • Strong project planning and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

Contract Details
  • Contract length: 9-12 months

  • Location: West Sussex (on-site)

  • Start: ASAP
