Our client is a globally recognised shipping group headquartered in Central London, with a diverse portfolio across maritime logistics, trading, and international operations. Due to continued growth, the business is seeking an Accounts Payable & Payroll Manager to join its high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve any invoice or payment queries efficiently
  • Prepare and execute weekly and monthly payment runs across multiple entities and currencies
  • Take ownership of the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, and ledger reviews
  • Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and supplier accounts
  • Support cash flow management and forecasting by maintaining accurate records of outgoing payments
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls
  • Support audits by providing relevant documentation and analysis

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll, ideally within a fast-paced, international environment
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes and reconciliations
  • Shipping, logistics, or trading sector experience is desirable but not essential
  • Studying towards or interested in pursuing ACCA or CIMA (study support provided)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems
