Maintenance Engineer, Bedford based distribution centre

Salary to £42,000

Work hours to be flexible (5 out of 6 days) with some on call

A new addition this year to the Bedford business community, our client has grown tremendously in the 18 years since it's inception and is now one of the UK's largest and most trusted distributors of animal related supplies and products.

Having recently automated their new warehouse, they now require an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to join the business as it's first ever Maintenance Engineer and to become a super user on the newly installed packaging machine via extensive first-hand training from its Italian manufacturer.

The role will involve ensuring line efficiency, fault finding and fixes, continuous improvement, preventative maintenance and training and mentoring of more junior staff. We invite applications from mechanical biased Engineers with some electrical appreciation. The ideal candidate will have had previous maintenance experience gained in an automated environment such as warehousing, logistics, distribution or production and also be available to start quickly in order to attend manufacturer training in Italy in the third week of June.
