My client is seeking a proactive and experienced Site Manager to join the team on a construction project in South London. The project is a £50m refurbishment of a School. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all on-site activities and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Ensure health & safety, quality, and environmental standards are adhered to at all times.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to keep projects on schedule and within cost constraints.
- Conduct regular site inspections, H&S audits, and progress reports.
- Lead site meetings and liaise with clients and project stakeholders as required.
- Coordinate deliveries, logistics, and site access.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and company policies.
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
Requirements:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - Required
- CSCS Card (Black or Gold) - Required
- First Aid at Work - Required
- Proven experience working as a Site Manager for a main contractor.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and health & safety legislation.
- Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors efficiently.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working on residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
- Formal construction-related education (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, etc.).
- Proficiency with project management tools and reporting software.
