Overview
We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to support a busy and structured credit control department. The ideal candidate will be confident managing their own ledger, following established processes, and maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and chase outstanding debt by phone and email
- Allocate incoming payments accurately
- Issue statements, reminder letters, and copy invoices as required
- Place accounts on stop and release orders in line with company policy
- Investigate and resolve customer queries promptly
- Maintain detailed records of all communication and account activity
- Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Finance, Customer Service) to support payment resolution
- Escalate problem accounts to management where necessary
Requirements
- Previous experience in a structured credit control environment
- Fully conversant with end-to-end credit control duties
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident using accounting/ERP systems and Excel
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
