Payroll Clerk

JOB TYPE: Permanent

SALARY: £25000 - £28000/annum

This is a full time, permanent role. Our client, a well-established company based in High Wycombe, is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be have a good understanding of excel and be experienced with Sage Payroll (experience with Sage Accounts would be an advantage). Applicants must be willing to work a Saturday shift every 6-7 weeks (8am-1.30pm). £25,000 (on a 6 month probation) increasing to £28,000 if successful Key Duties include: * Collecting and summarising timekeeping information from Work Summary Sheets (timesheets) completed by employees * Keeping record of any deductions from pay (e.g. parking fines, penalties, Failure to Comply with Company Deadlines for Submission of Mileage forms etc.) * Keeping record of any advance payments made to employees and deducting same from payroll * Processing a 4 weekly payroll via Sage Payroll, including printing and issuing payslips, FPS submissions and all relevant filing * Processing the payroll year end and relevant filings to HMRC * Inputting the salary payments on to the online banking system, Natwest Bankline (training will be given if no experience with this software) * Calculating monthly PAYE and CIS payments, including Apprenticeship Levy and arranging payment via Natwest Bankline * Dealing with the addition of new employees onto Sage Payroll and setting up HR files for same * Processing payments to Subcontractors, both weekly and 2 weekly (records kept on Excel). Calculating CIS Tax monthly and including with PAYE payments * Issuing Contracts of Employment * Keeping holiday records for all employees * Completion of CIS monthly returns * Processing any leavers and issuing with P45s. Processing necessary filing with HMRC * Maintaining back up of the Sage Payroll software * Production of payment summary reports and departmental reports from within Sage Payroll for Management Account purposes * Maintenance of absence records within Sage Payroll * Maintenance of company car records within Sage Payroll Special Requirements: * Previous experience working on Sage Payroll * Previous experience with Sage Accounts (advantageous) * Previous experience within a similar role * Excellent attention to detail * Strong Excel skills * Organised, dedicated, focused and hard working * Ability to work without supervision * Ability to cope with time pressures without losing accuracy
