Early Years Teaching Assistant - Maidstone
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Until July 2026 - Potential for Permanent Placement)

Pay: £90-£100 per day (depending on experience)

Supply Desk are working in partnership with a small, friendly primary school in Maidstone, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent, ideal for anyone looking to develop their career in Early Years education.

This role is particularly suited to:

Level 3 qualified Early Years practitioners
Graduates in a child or education-related degree, or
Candidates with experience supporting in Early Years settings

Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside the class teacher in a Reception class, supporting children in their learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
Provide targeted support to children with a range of needs, including speech and language difficulties, ASD, or other additional needs
Lead and support small group activities and contribute to the creation of engaging, age-appropriate learning environments
Encourage and foster independence and confidence in pupils as they begin their learning journey
Assist in tracking children's progress through observations and feedback, supporting the class teacher in assessments
Requirements:

Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare, OR
Degree in a child or education-related subject, OR
Strong, relevant experience in an Early Years or Reception setting
Sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
A warm, patient and nurturing approach, with a strong passion for working with young children
Strong communication and teamworking skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
