A highly regarded and long-established Oxfordshire law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its busy property team at its Abingdon head office. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated and detail-focused conveyancer looking to take the next step in a supportive and professional environment.

Its centralised completions team, based at the Abingdon office, manages all post-exchange work, allowing fee earners to focus on client care and case progression.

The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied residential property caseload with full administrative and post-exchange support. Reporting to the Head of Residential Property (based in Wallingford), the role offers autonomy once familiar with the firm's systems and procedures. It also includes the opportunity to contribute to business development efforts at the Abingdon office, supported by the Head of Department and Marketing Manager.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion
  • Meet and advise clients, taking instructions and explaining legal and administrative processes
  • Draft and review legal documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure timely responses to all client and third-party communications
  • Maintain high standards of compliance and file management (both electronic and paper)
  • Meet performance and financial targets, including managing aged bills and payment on account
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, including AML, GDPR and professional conduct rules
  • Support the firm's local presence by helping to build community and business relationships
  • Maintain continuing competence requirements and contribute to firm initiatives as required


Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • 6+ years PQE preferred (other levels will be considered based on relevant experience)
  • Solid experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing
  • Case management experience in a busy high street or regional practice
  • Client-focused, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, diligent and professional with a high level of personal integrity
  • Commercially aware and proactive in growing business opportunities
  • Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively as part of a wider team
