Location: Waltham Forest

Pay: £17-19 per hour

Hours: Full-time ranging from: Monday - Sunday

Flexible shift patterns varying from: Early shifts: 07:00-14:00, Late Shifts: 14:00-21:00, Long Days: 07:00-21:00, Waking Nights: 21:00-07:00

Nocturnal Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker with previous experience working within a care home, or similar setting.

The Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will take on a key leadership role within the team. You'll lead by example, ensure care is delivered with empathy and respect, and provide guidance and mentorship to more junior staff. This role is based within a Care Home, supporting Elderly individuals with Dementia. This includes managing, ordering and assisting with medication. Additionally, practicing Health & Safety at work and Infection Prevention Control.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead shifts and supervise care teams to maintain high standards of care.

* Organising and preparing staff rotas.

* Use of a computer and writing reports.

* Taking charge of the Care Home as a Duty Officer.

* Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, medication, and meaningful engagement.

* Monitor and update individual care plans in line with changing needs.

* Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.

* Promote a calm, reassuring environment for residents with dementia.

* Managing staff through training and supervision to new and existing team members.

What We Are Looking For:

* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification).

* Minimum 2 years' experience in elderly or dementia care.

* Proven ability to lead a team and act as a role model.

* Excellent understanding of dementia and how it affects individuals.

* Good communication and organisational skills

* Fair understanding of CQC inspections and standards.

* Hold a valid DBS within the last 12 months - preferably registered online or be able to complete a new one

* Must be happy to provide personal care
