Job Title: Male Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a conscientious Male Learning Support Assistant who would thrive within a Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school.

This Sunderland based secondary school focuses strongly on preparing pupils for life beyond school, ensuring they reach the highest levels of personal achievement and development. The ideal Male Learning Support Assistant will successfully help pupils to excel in a positive learning environment offering support and assistance.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
• Have experience of working in a transferable role or with SEMH individuals.
• Lead activities with individuals or small groups to facilitate educational development.
• Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported.
• Provide a stimulating and well structured learning environment suitable for pupils with SEMH.
• Be flexible and resilient.
• Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
• Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
