Job Title: Civil Site Supervisor - Water Industry (Contract)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Supervisor with a strong background in the water industry to oversee site operations on infrastructure and utilities projects across South East London. This contract role requires a hands-on professional with a solid understanding of water and wastewater works, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily site activities on water and wastewater projects, including pipelines, drainage, and associated civil works

Coordinate subcontractors, plant, labour, and materials to meet programme requirements

Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

Oversee installation of water mains, sewers, pumping stations, or treatment-related infrastructure

Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project management teams

Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks

Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and client specifications (e.g., Thames Water standards)

Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly to avoid delays

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within the water or utilities sector

Strong knowledge of water infrastructure, including mains laying, drainage, and civil engineering works

Valid CSCS card (essential); SSSTS or SMSTS required

Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the utilities sector

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Ability to manage site operations in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

EUSR Water Hygiene card

Temp Works Card

Experience working on projects within London or for major UK water authorities

Duration & Rate:

Contract duration and rate negotiable, depending on experience
