This is a hands-on AP position where you'll take responsibility for the full purchase ledger cycle. No two days are the same, and you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth supplier relationships and accurate payment processing.
Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist responsibilities include:
- Processing high-volume invoices and managing the full AP workflow
- Handling multi-currency payments across UK and Europe
- Matching invoices to Po's and resolving discrepancies with suppliers & internal teams
- Preparing weekly/monthly payment runs, including BACS schedules and reconciliations
- Managing supplier queries and completing regular statement reconciliations
- Maintaining supplier master data with strict fraud-prevention controls
- Supporting month-end AP tasks, reporting, and audit requirements
- Getting involved in continuous improvement as the finance function grows
Profile
The successful Accounts Payable Clerk should have:
- Strong experience within Accounts Payable
- Confidence working with multi-currency transactions (desirable)
- ERP system knowledge desirable
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work collaboratively within a small, supportive team
- A flexible and adaptable approach, comfortable with change
- Clear, professional communication skills when dealing with suppliers and colleagues
