A day in the life

You arrive in the Carmarthen office or start from home, planning your week around meetings with budget managers.

• Meet with managers across services, helping them understand their budgets and make confident decisions
• Translate financial information into clear, practical conversations
• Review performance, spotting trends and deciding where to offer guidance
• Support budgeting, forecasting and reporting alongside the Finance Manager
• Keep financial records accurate, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
• Offer informal support to junior team members, sharing knowledge and building confidence

Some conversations may feel challenging, especially when discussing budgets or performance. You'll have support from an experienced Finance Manager and a collaborative team, with shared decision making and space to reflect.

Over time, good support here means services feel confident using financial information, leading to stronger, more sustainable outcomes.

What you will need

• AAT qualified (minimum)
• Experience working in a finance role across multiple functions
• Confident in communicating with non-finance colleagues
• Able to manage your own workload and priorities
