A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Dudley is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Technology Technician to join their Design & Technology department on a part-time basis (2 days per week [Mon & Fri]). This role is being recruited with the support of Progress Teachers, a specialist education recruitment agency.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and ingredients for practical food technology lessons

Ensure the food technology classroom and preparation areas are clean, safe and well maintained

*

Support teachers and students during practical lessons where required

*

Monitor and manage stock levels, including ordering ingredients and supplies

*

Ensure health and safety standards are followed, including food hygiene procedures

*

Carry out regular equipment checks and basic maintenance

*

Assist with the safe storage and disposal of food items and waste

Requirements

*

Experience working in a school, food preparation, catering or similar practical environment (desirable)

Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety

*

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*

A calm, professional and flexible approach to work

*

Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (or have one registered on the update service)
