Job Details:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Java developer to join our Seismic Survey Planning and Simulation team. The successful candidate will be based in the UK and collaborate closely with our development team in Denver, Colorado.

What are we looking for?

Successful candidates will have experience in the following areas:

• At least 5 years commercial experience using:

  • Java/JavaFX, C++ (V11+) - ideally candidates will have experience of both, but Java is the primary language

  • Development of desktop applications

  • Visual Studio/Eclipse

• At least 3 years working at a senior level

• Excellent analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving and solution development

• Excellent communication skills are essential with an ability to articulate high level business requirements to low level technical details to a varied audience

• Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• BSc Computer Science or similar engineering discipline

• Background with scientific applications

What would really help?

• Experience with GIS, mapping applications, map projections and geodetics

• Familiarity with geophysics and seismic exploration

• Experience of working with remote teams

• Experience of Azure DevOps, Unit and Automated testing, CI / CD Pipelines

• Experience of working in an Agile environment, specifically Scrum teams
