Quarry Operative - Join Our Team at MQP!

Salary: £15.46 per hour
Hours: 40 per week + overtime available
Location: Cliffe Hill, Coalville

Are you hands‑on, safety‑focused and ready to build a career in a fast‑paced quarry environment?

MQP is looking for a committed Quarry Operative to support the safe and efficient operation of our site's mobile and static plant.

As a Quarry Operative, you'll play a vital role in our operations, ensuring the plant runs smoothly and safely every day. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a variety of mobile and static plant, in line with your certifications.

• Supporting general housekeeping across the site to maintain a safe and tidy working environment.

• Carrying out additional duties on the main processing plant, as required by Site Management.

• Keeping all plant in excellent working condition - including refuelling, greasing, cleaning, and basic maintenance.

• Operating machinery economically and efficiently.

• Completing daily inspection sheets for all mobile plant.

• Reporting any plant defects promptly to the Load & Haul management team.

• Submitting near-miss reports and supporting continuous improvement in safety.

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths & English (or equivalent).

• Strong general education - you'll need to follow important health & safety and Quarry Regulations.

• Valid competency cards for:

  • Loading Shovel

  • ADT (Articulated Dump Truck)

  • Excavator

• Experience in a similar quarry or heavy plant role.
