Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join a children's residential home in Telford. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people while leading and developing a team of Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.

Working alongside the Deputy and Registered Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children can thrive, develop resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

* Lead, motivate, and support Residential Support Workers

* Provide supervision, guidance, and performance support

* Assist with staff rotas, recruitment, and training

* Model high standards of professional practice

Care & Support

* Deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people

* Support daily routines, education, and life skills development

* Build positive relationships and promote emotional wellbeing

* Contribute to a warm and stable home environment

Safeguarding & Practice

* Promote a strong safeguarding culture

* Ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed

* Support staff with behaviour management and de-escalation

* Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning

Partnership Working

* Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and external professionals

* Support children to maintain positive relationships where appropriate

Requirements:

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

* Experience working in a children's residential setting

* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

* Ability to lead, support, and motivate a team

* Good communication and organisational skills

* Emotional resilience and ability to work under pressure

* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins

Desirable:

* Experience supervising or mentoring staff

* Level 5 qualification (or working towards)

* Full UK driving licence

* Experience supporting children with complex needs or challenging behaviours
