Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Are you a strategic and hands-on engineering leader ready to drive technical excellence and plant performance in a high-volume manufacturing environment?

We are working with a global manufacturing organisation at the forefront of innovation in automotive and industrial production. Their UK operation is seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead technical support services across plant operations, including Controls and Facilities.

The Role:

As Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies to improve OEE, equipment availability, and engineering performance. You'll lead a team of skilled engineers, drive continuous improvement, and oversee technical compliance with safety regulations and machinery legislation. You'll also play a key role in capital projects and new product launches, ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement strategies to enhance plant OEE and equipment availability.

* Set, monitor, and drive KPIs and departmental performance.

* Lead budget setting and cost control activities for the engineering function.

* Oversee PM/TPM systems and promote engineering training aligned to business needs.

* Drive technical support and continuous improvement across equipment and facilities.

* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

* Support new project launches, equipment buy-offs, and process changes.

* Manage and mentor engineering staff and apprentices.

What We're Looking For:

* Degree-qualified in Engineering or Manufacturing (or equivalent experience).

* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar senior engineering role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

* Broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, software, and controls engineering.

* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

* Experience with project management, supplier coordination, and technical standards.

* TUV Functional Safety qualification (desirable).

* Familiarity with tools like TIA Portal, Robot Studio, and Simatic.
