Job Title: Bookkeeper - Accounting and Finance (Travel Industry)

Our client are a boutique accountancy, audit, tax, and corporate finance practice specialising in a vibrant industry. With the distinction of being the sole practice in the UK with a thriving regulatory department within their field, they are at the forefront of what they do. We are excited to welcome a Bookkeeper to our clients dynamic team. For this role the client is looking for someone who is currently working in an Accountancy Practice / Chartered Accountant and also must be ACCA or ACA studying or AAT qualified.

Bookkeeper Key Responsibilities:

  • Excel based bookkeeping, including day book compilation, bank reconciliations and scheduling up to Trial Balance.
  • Oversee a portfolio of clients to support them with their bookkeeping needs
  • Taking control of a portfolio of clients being the first point of contact
  • Preparing And Submitting VAT returns
  • Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping
  • Use of Sage Line 50 Software.
  • Experience using Xero and other cloud accounting software.
  • Quarterly VAT Submissions and meeting deadlines.
  • Quarterly EC Sales List submissions.
  • VAT Registration/De-Registration and related administration.
  • Communication with clients (email, phone, face to face).
  • An understanding of MTD (Making Tax Digital) and assisting with transitioning clients.

Bookkeeper Required Skills, Attributes & Qualifications:

  • Professional Qualification: ACCA or ACA studying or AAT qualified and if you are working in an Accountancy Practice/Chartered Accountant
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate/Advanced user of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for interactions with senior staff and clients.
  • Initiative: Motivated to assume responsibility and consistently deliver high-quality service.
