Technical Electronics Service Manager

Coventry – 100% Site Based

Our very successful, innovative and forward-thinking Client is looking to recruit an experienced, technical Service Manager.

Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate Service Engineer activities and schedules to maximise customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Diagnose laser and laser system faults remotely and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Manage the planning and execution of on-site Field Service interventions, including spare parts and equipment coordination
  • Oversee pre-delivery inspections and customer site readiness to ensure smooth system installations
  • Provide technical sales support for product, application and installation enquiries
  • Act as the primary escalation point for service-related enquiries, ensuring fast and professional customer support
  • Drive continuous improvement through analysis of field service reports and operational performance
  • Manage spare parts inventory to optimise turnaround times and maximise customer uptime
  • Collaborate closely with UK, European and US teams to ensure aligned and seamless service operations

Person Specification:

  • Technical qualification in electrical engineering, or electronic engineering
  • Hands-on engineer with 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong troubleshooting capability in analogue and digital electronics
  • Experience with communication protocols (e.g. fieldbus systems) would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with industrial software or the ability to quickly learn technical systems
  • Applications experience in laser welding or other laser processes is beneficial
  • Ability to analyse and assess complex mechanical components
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland and occasionally internationally
