Catering Team Leader

Full-Time
• 40 Hours Per Week
• 5 Over 7 (Including 1 Weekend Day)
Shift Pattern Alternating Weekly:

  • Week 1: 6:30am – 3:00pm
  • Week 2: 12:00pm – 8:30pm

An established independent boarding and day school in the Berkshire area is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Catering Team Leader to join its busy in-house Catering Department.

With a fully catered service running 7 days a week — including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a range of events and formal functions — this is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about delivering great food and excellent service to a vibrant school community.

About the Role

As a Catering Team Leader, you will play an integral role in supporting the Catering & Events Manager with the day-to-day running of the operation. You’ll help lead a dedicated catering team, ensuring smooth service, high standards, and a positive dining experience for pupils, staff, and guests.

This role is ideal for someone with:

  • Experience working in a similar high-volume catering environment
  • A passion for food, service, and teamwork
  • Supervisory experience and confidence leading a shift
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Catering & Events Manager in the daily running of all catering outlets on site
  • Supervise General Assistants and Kitchen Porters during your shift
  • Take responsibility for hospitality and catered events as required
  • Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness at all times
