Workday Project Manager - Migration Programme
Remote - 6 month contract (rolling) - Outside iR35 - start ASAP
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Workday Project Manager for a full-cycle Workday migration, ensuring seamless delivery from planning to post-go-live support. This role requires strong expertise in Workday HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end management of the Workday migration project, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation.
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, IT, and external Workday consultants to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.
- Oversee requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, configuration, testing, data migration, and deployment.
- Coordinate data cleansing and validation activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage UAT cycles, defect tracking, and resolution processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, data privacy, and internal governance requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans to senior stakeholders through regular reports and steering committee updates.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and training sessions to ensure smooth adoption post-migration.
- Drive change management strategies to encourage user adoption and minimise disruption.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record as a Project Manager on at least one end-to-end Workday implementation or migration.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials modules.
- Experience with data migration strategies, data integrity, and reporting.
- Familiarity with integration approaches between Workday and third-party systems.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with a focus on delivery.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate technical requirements into business outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience in vendor management and working with external consultants.
- Prince2, PMP, or Agile certification desirable.
Preferred:
- Experience in large-scale enterprise migrations.
- Previous work in regulated industries (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare).
- Exposure to post-go-live optimisation and enhancement projects.
