Solicitor / Qualified CILEX - Probate Department
Location: Manchester (with travel across North West offices)

A highly regarded, multi-office law firm in the North West is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its busy and expanding Probate Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional to manage a diverse caseload of private client matters within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of duties, including:
- Advising clients on Wills, Probate, Inheritance Tax planning, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Preparing and submitting applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
- Handling all aspects of estate administration from initial instruction to final distribution
- Advising on Court of Protection matters and preparing deputyship applications
- Drafting legal documentation and correspondence to a high standard
- Conducting client meetings, including home and care facility visits where required
- Maintaining accurate records via the firm's case management system
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal procedures
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) with a minimum of 3 years' PQE in Private Client/Probate work
- STEP qualification or progression towards accreditation is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and probate procedures
- Excellent drafting, client care, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- Proven ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision
- Proficient in legal IT systems and case management software
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel between office locations and client appointments
