Project Manager - Civil Engineering (Highways)

Our client, a globally respected provider of engineering and infrastructure solutions, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their civil engineering team on a permanent basis, with a focus on highways projects across North Lanarkshire.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead delivery within a major, long-term framework agreement. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence, working towards delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, cost-effective delivery of projects while meeting all regulatory, contractual, and performance requirements. Due to the seniority of this position, demonstrable experience in managing civil engineering projects is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the estimating, planning, programming, and delivery of multiple projects
Liaise effectively with existing clients and develop new client relationships
Manage all aspects of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ)
Oversee budgeting and forecasting, driving financial performance
Supervise and support site teams and direct labour
Oversee commercial project elements including cost control and reporting
Produce reports and maintain accurate project records
Ensure delivery teams meet contractual and internal performance targets
Develop and manage staff training, development, and succession planning
Continuously monitor and improve Contract/Scheme KPIs
Ensure full compliance with company and client policies as well as statutory regulations

Essential Requirements:

Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent discipline)
Proven experience in managing a range of civil engineering projects
Strong technical expertise across all site-based civils activities
Previous experience in highways and infrastructure projects highly desirable
Commercially astute with strong financial management capability
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental best practices
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Full UK driving licence
