About the Role

Complete Classroom Services are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and well-organised Science Technician to join a forward-thinking and supportive Science Department within a highly respected school in Southwark.
This is an excellent opportunity to become a key part of a department committed to delivering high-quality scientific education. You will support practical lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and SEN, ensuring students and teachers have a safe, well-maintained, and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, set up, and test equipment, materials, and chemicals for practical science lessons.
- Support teaching staff during experiments, demonstrations, and practical activities.
- Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals in line with COSHH and school safety policies.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards across all laboratories and prep rooms.
- Carry out routine equipment maintenance and identify items needing repair or replacement.
- Maintain accurate stock inventories and assist in ordering new resources.
- Prepare displays, resources, and materials for open evenings, science fairs, and curriculum events.
- Assist with risk assessments and ensure all health & safety protocols are followed by students and staff.
- Contribute to developing engaging experiments and practical activities that enhance learning.
- Support with administrative and technical tasks within the department as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience working as a Science Technician, ideally within a school setting (preferred but not essential).
- Hold a science-related qualification (A-Level or higher is desirable).
- Have good understanding of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and COSHH regulations.
- Be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Communicate clearly with teachers, students, and colleagues.
- Show a genuine interest in science education and supporting student progress.
