Location: Bootle, LiverpoolContract: Full-time, PermanentSalary: up to £35,000 + benefits

Shift pattern: Monday - Friday only (6am - 2pm or 11am - 6pm)

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Transport Planner to join our clients dynamic logistics team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating the moving parts that keep operations running smoothly.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and optimising daily vehicle routes to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective transport operations. You’ll work closely with drivers, depot teams, and external partners to make sure service levels are met and any operational issues are resolved quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, optimise, and manage daily transport plans to maximise efficiency and meet service requirements
  • Communicate clearly with drivers, site teams, and external stakeholders to ensure all routes run to schedule
  • Monitor live operations, proactively addressing delays, route changes, or resource issues
  • Ensure all transport activity complies with relevant legislation, internal policies, and safety standards
  • Analyse transport data to identify trends, performance improvements, and operational cost savings
  • Maintain accurate records within planning and fleet management systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the wider logistics operation

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, organisation, and the ability to think on their feet. You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

  • Experience in transport planning, fleet coordination, logistics scheduling, or a similar operational planning role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise across different teams
  • Good IT skills, including experience with planning or telematics systems
  • Understanding of transport legislation, driver regulations, and fleet compliance
  • A positive, team-focused attitude and a flexible approach to changing priorities
