We are seeking a dedicated Senior Job Coach to lead and deliver high-quality job coaching and coordination for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within work-based learning environments. This role is pivotal in providing direct coaching support to learners, coordinating work placements, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and learner progress processes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of a Senior Job Coach:

  • Coaching and Support: Directly support and coach learners with SEND in workplace settings using systematic instruction and tailored strategies.
  • Programme Coordination: Develop, implement, and review personalised employability and support plans to track and enhance learner progress.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise effectively with employers, families, and external agencies to secure and sustain high-quality employer partnerships and work placements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of job coaches, focusing on supervision, performance management, and professional development.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all activities and placements comply with safeguarding, health, and safety standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of learner progress, placements, and employer feedback, contributing to reporting and quality assurance

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Job Coach role :

  • Qualifications: Level 4 teaching qualification or above, 1st Degree or equivalent, and minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience: Proven experience in supporting young people with SEND in developing work skills, preferably within work experience or Supported Internship programmes.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to manage complex arrangements, and proficiency in writing and evaluating employment support plans.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the health and safety requirements in working environments and a commitment to widening participation in employment for people with SEND.
