SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Lambeth (KS2 Focus)

Location: LambethStart Date: 16th June 2025Contract: Full-time, Term-Time - Until End of Autumn Term (Possible Extension)Salary: £90 - £105 per day (dependent on experience)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from June 16th. This full-time role will run until the end of the Autumn term with the potential for extension into 2026.

The school has a strong commitment to supporting children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping KS2 pupils to regulate behaviour, build resilience, and fully engage with their learning.

• Supporting KS2 pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis

• Implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques

• Helping pupils develop social and emotional regulation skills

• Working closely with SENCOs, class teachers and external professionals

• Creating a calm, nurturing learning environment

• Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs

• Confident, patient and empathetic approach

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

• A resilient, consistent and nurturing presence in the classroom

• DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
