A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from June 16th. This full-time role will run until the end of the Autumn term with the potential for extension into 2026.
The school has a strong commitment to supporting children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping KS2 pupils to regulate behaviour, build resilience, and fully engage with their learning.
What You'll Be Doing as an SEMH Teaching Assistant: -
Supporting KS2 pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis

Implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques

Helping pupils develop social and emotional regulation skills

Working closely with SENCOs, class teachers and external professionals

Creating a calm, nurturing learning environment
What We're Looking For: -
Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs

Confident, patient and empathetic approach

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

A resilient, consistent and nurturing presence in the classroom

DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
