About the Role

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join a reputable main contractor based in Maidstone. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a growing commercial team, working across a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

As the Estimator, you will play a vital role in the pre-construction phase—preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing tender documents, and contributing to winning bids for projects ranging in value from £1m to £20m.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.

Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and design teams to develop proposals.

*

Prepare and submit tender bids, ensuring deadlines are met.

*

Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes and negotiate where necessary.

*

Contribute to value engineering exercises and provide cost-saving solutions.

*

Maintain a database of cost information and industry trends.

Requirements

*

Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment.

*

Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.

*

Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

*

Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

*

Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

*

Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.

*

A team player with strong communication and negotiation skills.
