Location: Tamworth
Hours: Dayshift, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday or 4 day week
Pay: £45000-£48000 per annum

The Role

Optima is recruiting a skilled CNC EDM Wire Programmer Operator to join a precision manufacturing client in Tamworth. The successful candidate will operate high-specification EDM wire equipment to manufacture gears, gear shafts, and precision components to exacting standards.

Key responsibilities include:

Programming and operating CNC EDM Wire machines
Working from detailed engineering drawings, process sheets, and tooling instructions
Producing precision components to tight tolerances
Entering production and job data into the ERP system
Operating multiple machines as required
Working with a variety of materials
Applying strong knowledge of EDM principles, tooling, and material characteristics
Maintaining quality, accuracy, and safe working practices

About You

Minimum of 3 years' trade training or equivalent experience, plus 2-4 years' relevant machining experience
Extensive knowledge of CNC EDM Wire machining
Strong understanding of EDM principles, tooling, materials, and machine shop practices
Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Comfortable working in a multi-machine environment
Good communication skills
Self-motivated with a driven and proactive attitude
