Our client is opening an exciting new Community Wellbeing Service in Scalby, Scarborough in April. There recruiting a brand new team to join them in supporting their customers who are older people aged 55+ with varying care and support needs, helping them to live independently within their own homes. You’ll be working in their brand new building which has 63 beautifully designed apartments, a café, restaurant, hairdressers and picturesque landscaped gardens for the whole community to access!
They’re looking for a caring team of Lead Support Workers, Support Workers or Carers to provide person centred support and care to our customers who have a range of support needs including frailty and dementia. As Lead Support Worker in Scarborough, you’ll develop customer care plans, support and coordinate our team of Support Workers to deliver on the plans that you’ve created with our customers. You’ll ensure that person centred and re-enablement focused care is provided, leading on caseloads and risk assessments. You’ll manage more complex personal care including stoma and catheter care.
As Support Worker, you’ll be helping customers to maintain their independence and live well in their own home. You’ll find that no two days are the same because everything we do is “person centred” around our customers’. So you might be helping with personal care such as bathing, toileting and getting dressed in the morning, supporting them to cook some lunch and even a bit of shopping in the afternoon. Full and part-time hours are available. If you’re a night owl and looking for a Waking Nights role our shifts range from 8.30 pm to 8.30 am. Or if you want to work days instead, shifts range from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm. You’ll work on a rota basis, taking your turn to work different days, weekends and bank holidays. About you:
You’ll have worked in a supported housing environment before, are willing to provide personal care, have a good understanding of CQC regulations and willing to work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
For the Lead Support Worker role, you hold a relevant Diploma such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent and have previous experience of creating care and support plans with customers.
